A month of 5 fruit and veg surrounded by various fruit and veg

So it has been a few months now since I launched my blog and slowly I have been working on what projects that I want to do.

For me it came clear that investing time into vlogging was important that finding a way to cross the two was important. It has been a difficult decision over the frequency of vlogs and blogs and what topic would work to bring the two together.

At one point I was toying with the idea to start a vlogging monthly challenge (and I still think I will) but at the same time I wanted something that pushed me to do more than just one vlog a month while not being tied down with daily videos.

The turning point came when bf reminded me of last year’s resolution of drinking no coke and the difference it has made. Throughout 2014 I gave up coke (including Coca Cola, Pepsi and store brands). I still don’t drink coke other than as a very occasional mixer out but so far I have only done that twice this year!

The first month though was the hardest – it had been such an easy thing to do when bf had a bottle of it by his desk and the addiction to having something fizzy and sweet to drink. After that though it was a walk in the park and each month it became easier as it was now ingrained. It also was exciting to know as I counted down the months that I was going to keep a new year’s resolution for once!

It was remembering all of this that I realised a month is a good time timescale to do a project in terms of positive change, writing and a great way to cover the topic in both written and video form. This is when I thought of a different type of challenge – why do a challenge that is just one blog post when I could set a challenge to then blog about.

This is where “A month of” was born – every month setting a challenge to keep for a month and covering it with my blog as a way to incentivise keeping it up and having useful information for others.

The choice of a topic to start with for me was easy with bf being on the Keto diet – food. As a supertaster I have always found it hard to eat rich or bitter fruit and vegetables. Although there is a goal to eat 5 fruit or veg a day in the UK I have always struggled to even get even two portions a day! So it was easy for this to be a good choice – there is so much on this topic from recipes to achieving this while eating out, shopping changes and health related changes. As I am a supertaster – which up to 75% of children are, my insights could be useful for parents and working around these extra taste buds that they might not understand.

Starting 1st July I will be starting this project and I would love to invite you to take part!

Are you a blogger who wants to challenge themself to a month of eating 5 fruit and veg a day – email me on info@lillyringlet.com! I would love to cover others taking part in the form of interviews, guest posts and more. Maybe you are a mummy blogger who wants to aim for feeding their children at least 5 fruit and veg a day and covering it from a parents perspective? Food blogger who wants to aim to cook or try foods that help achieve this easily or even a beauty blogger who wants to see what effect it has on your skin and hair. I would love to get more people involved so we can share ideas or give support. If you can get in touch beforeĀ  1st July so that I can do an overview of everyone taking part!

Are you a food blogger with recipes or tips that you feel will help me and others doing this challenge – I would love to hear from you! Either email me or leave a comment with links to which recipes I should try.

Are you a charity, organisation or business that are trying to encourage more people to keep to this goal every day for health reasons – I would love to hear from you too! It would be incredible to get your expertise and knowledge of the difference it can make or any tips you may have.

I want to hear from you if you want to take part or offer advice.

Throughout July I’ll be covering it everyday – so I look forward to hearing from you throughout the month.

Although this initial challenge has not even started, I want to start planning what I will be doing for my second “A month of” so please leave a comment below with ideas of what you think I should do.

I am so excited about this project and I hope that you enjoy it too!
